First, let's put our cards on the table. You came here for a reason today. Something has happened that made you decide to check out a stop smoking program. Perhaps you just aren't feeling as good as you used to. Perhaps you are constantly coughing. Maybe you are having more difficulty climbing stairs or walking very far. Consider this, I could give you lots of statistics about why it is important to quit smoking. There is the ever present heart attack scare, increased risk of cancer and a host of other diseases. Most people know why they should quit smoking and they really don't need a lot of scare tactics to tell them why. The most important thing is that you have to have a reason to quit. And you have to really want to be an ex-smoker. You see, when I hypnotize you, I am competing with a hypnotist who has been working on you for years to maintain the status quo. Why Should I Listen To an EX-Smoker!

"Why should I listen to a EX-Smoker Hypnotist" about quitting smoking. Well, the answer is simple. I was a two plus pack per day smoker for many years. I "Tried To Quit" many times over the years. I used nicotine gum, the patch, clonidine, aversion therapy, and the list goes on and on. I quit hundreds of times and restarted again and again. Does any of this sound familiar? Have you been on that roller coaster? Going through some of the same ups and downs, getting on a plan that seems to work for awhile. Then just when you quit, you either start gaining weight or constantly crave cigarettes. So, you finally give up and start again and you end smoking more than when you started.

How Does Hypnosis Compare To Other Methods?

Hypnosis had the highest success rate of all methods studied in a meta-analytic comparison that was published in the "Journal of Applied Psychology", 1992, Volume 77, Number 4, pages 554 through 561. In that study of 6020 smokers, hypnosis had the highest average success rate of the 48 programs tested. The overall success rate for hypnosis was 36% which was twice as high as medication (18%), nicotine chewing gum (16%) and the overall success rate of all other methods (25%). Some of the hypnosis programs scored as high as 60%. The "Journal of Applied Psychology" is published by "The American Psychological Association", which is the main professional association of psychologists in America.
